The Silver Society is pleased to announce the launch of its Annual Prize for 2025. The Prize of £2,000 will be awarded to a silversmith working in the UK who is within the first five years of their career as a practising silversmith. The winner and runner-up will be offered free membership of the Silver Society for three years.
Entry Requirements: Submissions must include:
- A detailed CV of the maker.
- Images of a piece of silver (not jewellery), either made especially for the Prize or a pre-existing piece.
- Images showing the hallmarks.
- Technical details of the process of manufacture.
Optional Submission Materials: Submissions may also include:
- Detailed design drawings.
- A video or commentary on any sources of inspiration.
Eligibility Restrictions: Entries should not be:
- By previous winners of the Prize.
- Items of jewellery.
- Items made more than twelve months before the closing date.
A shortlist of selected candidates will be required to submit their entries for inspection and handling by the judging panel between 31 August 2025 and 15 October, by arrangement. The winner will be announced at the Society’s meeting at the Goldsmiths’ Centre in London on 29 October 2025, when the Prize will be presented.
The winning piece and a profile of its maker will be published in the 2025 edition of the Silver Society Journal. Entries should be submitted to prize@thesilversociety.org by Sunday, 31 August 2025.
