Silver and The Church
An exhibition of plate to mark the 1400th anniversary of the Diocese of London was organised by the Worshipful Company of Goldsmiths and held at Goldsmiths’ Hall, London, in April and May 2004. Following the warm reception the exhibition received, the Silver Society, with the support of the Goldsmiths’ Company, has produced retrospectively a catalogue compiled by the exhibition’s curator, Timothy Schroder. It features an introduction followed by a short description and illustration of each of the 83 exhibits, as well as indexes of makers and lenders and a glossary.
