Parker & Wakelin’s “Gentlemen’s Ledger” 1767 – 1770

This database contains information compiled by Dr Helen Clifford from the Garrard Ledgers, held by the Archive of Art and Design, Victoria and Albert Museum, which the Museum acquired in 1952. The archive contains ‘Gentlemen’s Ledgers’ (1735-1949), ‘Workmen’s Ledgers’ (1747-62 and 1766-1816) and day books (1777-1879).

In Silver in London, the Parker and Wakelin Partnership 1760-1776, (Yale University Press 2004) Dr Clifford examined in detail one period of this unique archive. She has kindly made available her transcript of the Gentlemen’s Ledgers for four years, 1767-1770.
